Can you describe the benefits of your FTZ?
Buenaventura, the only Colombian port on the Pacific, deals with 50% of foreign trade. The port has direct access to the Pacific basin conformed for 49 countries, which represents 85% of the world GDP.
This FTZ is just 15km from Cali, the capital of the region.
It is located 10km from Yumbo, the industrial capital of Colombia.
This FTZ is 500 metres from the airport Alfonso Bonilla Aragon, 3rd largest for the movement of cargo and passengers in Colombia.
The logistical benefits are related to the geographical location.
Our experience in managing and knowledge of the FTZ regime are very important for the companies that wish to join. Palmaseca has more than 20 years of experience, we are pioneers in the south west of the country, the first in this region.
Recently an agency called Investpacific was created to attract investment to the region; they have been operating for about 3 years and, with other agencies, have been successful in creating interesting alliances. They work with new companies to help then with contacts with national authorities and help resolve problems with paperwork procedures. This help is greatly appreciated by the new companies.
We have the DIAN office here in the FTZ which makes it easies to manage operations, for not all FTZs have this office. We have the complete required infrastructure for companies to operate.
